Magyar Banda concert
Description
Magyar Banda was formed in 2020 from recognized young musicians of the Hungarian folk music movement. Its members are regular musicians of such influential performers and ensembles as András Berecz, Márta Sebestyén, Muzsikás, the State Folk Ensemble, Ágnes Herczku, and Cimbaliband. The band's image is defined by its unique yet traditional musical thinking, rich versatility, and a creative approach that consciously avoids repetition.
One of the central symbols of their musical world is the betyár, the embodiment of freedom and inner independence. The goal of Magyar Banda is not to simply replay the past, but to express themselves in the traditional musical language they inherited from their masters.
Their first album was released in 2021 by Fonó Budai Zeneház, on CD and digital platforms. The band's lineup is based on the defining instruments of Hungarian folk music, offering an authentic yet fresh sound to the audience.
