Rocksuli Debrecen, together with the Öröm a Zene Talent Search and Development series and JM Hungary, announces a light music competition for participation in the contest titled Cívis Talent – Rocksuli Talent Search.

Professional supporters and partners: National Cultural Fund Hangfoglaló Light Music Support Program Board, National Association of Instrumentalists.

On May 10, 2026, Rocksuli Debrecen will organize a talent search competition under the name Cívis Talent.

We are looking for bands:

  • who apply with a live, instrumental performance

  • who have their own original songs

  • who do not yet have a record label or national radio background

  • who have not received 2 million HUF support from the NKA Hangfoglaló starter band subprogram

What we offer:

  • A professional jury will listen to the submitted recordings and decide who advances to the live competition

  • Various prizes (items and performance opportunities)

  • The winner of Cívis Talent advances to the national final of the Öröm a Zene Talent Search

  • As co-organizer of the JM Hungary talent search, a special prize will be awarded to one musical act, who may represent Hungary at the Imagine Music Xperience international final in Brussels in December

Application deadline: Sunday, April 26, 2026
Application: https://www.rocksuli.hu/civistalent

Members of the jury:

  • Remo Andrásik, guitarist, founder of the Öröm a Zene Talent Search

  • The program is intended for amateur bands; therefore, bands with radio or record label background cannot apply (self-releases and appearances in local media are not exclusion criteria)

  • Applications from bands that have previously received support from the NKA Hangfoglaló Program starter band subprogram cannot be accepted

  • At least one of the compositions must be performed in Hungarian

Professional evaluation criteria used by the jury:

  • instrumental skills (10 points)

  • lyrics (10 points)

  • uniqueness, originality (20 points)

  • overall impression (10 points)

Awards:

  • Winners of regional and cross-border events may advance to the national grand final of Öröm a Zene

  • In 2017, the ÖRÖM A ZENE – Gábor Újfalusi Award was established, awarded at each stop to one musician for outstanding musical talent

  • The partnership between Artisjus and Öröm a Zene continues to strengthen. The shared goal and message: songs are valuable to all of us. It is an important mission to support songwriters—both experienced and emerging. Through this collaboration, we can be present at the moment when talent first emerges, and from that point, even support them through copyright representation. At all twenty stops of the talent search series, an Artisjus award-winning songwriter will represent the association and decide which piece will be The Best Song of the Talent Search that day. At the 18th season final, two additional awards will be presented: “Artisjus Composer Talent Award of the 2026 Öröm a Zene Talent Search Series” and “Artisjus Lyricist Talent Award of the 2026 Öröm a Zene Talent Search Series.” Recognizing new songwriters is always a joy!

10 productions will advance to the live audition of the Hangfoglaló Program starter band scheme. (A basic requirement is submitting a valid application to the NKA Hangfoglaló Program’s call supporting emerging performers.) Bands selected there may receive support from the NKA Hangfoglaló Program, which can be up to 4,000,000 HUF.
