With the communal Advent candle-lightings, we enter the time of year when we step through the gateway of the Christmas season and begin to prepare our hearts for the birth of light. In our city, it has now become a tradition to light the Advent candles together with representatives of the historic churches and city leaders.
A heartfelt celebration in the heart of the city, where friends and strangers alike can share the anticipation of Christmas. The small flickering flame on the Advent wreath brings not only light but also hope, showing that even in the deepest darkness, light will always find a way.
Guests of the second candle-lighting of Debrecen Advent are invited at 16:30 in front of the Old Town Hall. From there, a Christmas procession will lead to the Advent Stage on Kossuth Square, where the second candle will be lit.
