“Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit, fill my heart…” — Debrecen Hajdú Táncegyüttes celebration

The Debrecen Hajdú Dance Ensemble has, since 1953, preserved, nurtured and enriched our folk art with unwavering enthusiasm and dedication. Their work is marked by prestigious honours such as the Europe Prize for Folk Art, the Csokonai Vitéz Mihály Community Award, the Debrecen Pro Urbe Award, and the Hungarian Heritage Award.

Every generation of the Ensemble has consistently earned the highest distinctions — Gold I and the title “Ensemble Rated Excellent” — in the foremost professional evaluation system for dance companies.

In their festive programme the entire 350-member community will appear on stage, from kindergarten-aged children to senior dancers, to present together the power and beauty of tradition.
